MAGAZINE MOSAIC
Animals pictures from magazine
1. Draw the outline of your design on a piece of paper
2. Tear magazine pages into small pieces
3. Use a glue stick to smear glue over a section of your page
4. Stick magazine pieces down, overlapping the edges
5. Use different colours for the different sections of your mosaic
SHADOW PUPPETS
Gruffalo shadow puppets
1. Draw outlines of characters on to cardboard and cut them out
3. Stick a pencil to the back of each one using sticky tape
4. Cut a large square hole on the one side of a cereal box and cover it with a napkin or piece of paper towel
5. Cut a smaller hole in the back and shine a torch through
6. Do a puppet show behind the napkin and see your shadows come to life
PUPPET SHOW
Cereal box puppet stage & stick puppets
1. Cut a hole out of the side of the cereal box.
2. Decorate the box with magazine pictures or paint.
3. Cut the cereal packet into strips and stick these to the top of the hole to make curtains.
4. Draw characters on to scrap cardboard, cut them out and stick them on to pencils to make stick puppets.
PENGUIN DOLLS
Nesting dolls made from plastic containers
1. Find 3-6 plastic containers that fit inside each other
2. Cut strips of paper the same width as the height of each container
3. Draw a penguin on each strip of paper
4. Glue the strips of paper around the containers
5. Make one last baby penguin by drawing on a small stone
TOILET ROLL ANIMAL
Toilet roll elephant
1. Find two empty toilet roll tubes
2. Cut a strip from the top of the one tube to be the trunk
3. Cut large elephant ear shapes from the rest of the tube
4. Glue the trunk and the ears on to the other tube
5. Decorate your elephant with paint, crayons or cut up magazines
STAINED GLASS WINDOW
Window made from recycled plastic
1. Collect empty plastic containers, plastic bags or other plastic items
2. Draw your window design on a piece of black cardboard
3. Cut out the sections of the window
4. Stick the pieces of plastic to the different sections using tape
5. Paint or colour (using permanent markers) the different sections of the window
